Eve Online Ships: Sharing Part 1

I have read and heard some comments about Eve Online that it is really boring of an MMORPG and the redeeming factors only would be the Eve Online Ships. As I always say to them in response when I have the chance, you don’t know what you’re talking about. It is either they didn’t play the game that long or they are just plainly stupid. Sometimes it is a combination of both. So yeah, no need to reply to those posts.

Eve Online Ships: Let’s Start

So I bumped into a long post in Eve Subreddit with someone sharing a story to us. It is not all about the action and the graphics. Sometimes an MMORPG is all about the experience and the stories created while playing the game, like Eve Online. Like this one:

Yes, I’m brand new. No, I’m not some scrub on here asking for tips – I’m capable of using the internet. Just wanted to share my experience so far, and why I think EVE Online may be one of the most brilliant games of all time.

I have 1400+ hours in Elite Dangerous, and I will always have a very warm place in my heart for it. But now that I’ve been playing EVE for all of a week or so, I’ve finally recognized why Elite couldn’t keep my attention. Despite its incredible flight control, the brilliant UI, the pure sense of freedom, and fun combat mechanics, nothing ever escaped your own cockpit – physically or mentally.

You are locked into that chair. Nothing outside of that cockpit really influences your goals. What I mean is that every goal you create for yourself is of a selfish nature. I need more money. I want a better ship. I need to increase my standing in my faction, because I want the faction bonus/ship/module. I want to explore. I want to be a pirate. In Elite Dangerous, you could play with other people, but there was never a reason to beyond merely wanting to. In fact, most activities were far less lucrative with other players and it wasn’t even that risky to fly alone.

Let us continue next time and maybe the poster will tell us more like something about Eve Ships.

TF2 Trading : More Overwatch

Last time we talked about Overwatch is better than Team Fortress 2 in terms of graphics. Granted, TF2 trading back that they are much older and the engine used was that of that year Team Fortress 2 came out. Again, that is no excuse. There could have been any updates or a new release of Team Fortress but they let it slide so yeah, Overwatch won that for me. Graphics isn’t all that to a game but then again, Overwatch overtook Team Fortress 2 in other aspects. Hear me out.

TF2 Trading: Characters

Shooting game like Counterstrike, Battlefield, Call of Duty, etc. have no personality in the characters they are using. You are a lifeless soldier (or terrorist) with a gun and shoot people. That’s it. Kudos to Team Fortress (Team Fortress 2 specifically) for putting some personality to the classes in the game. Who would have expected that each class or role has their own attitude and style? Right? These personalities were brought out more with their animated shorts. As a (former) Team Fortress 2 player, I have never thought that they act differently. Just after finding out about their animated shorts that I realized they have and are characters.

TF2 Trading

Overwatch outdid Team Fortress 2 though. Again, this is just for the sake of argument and I still think it is unfair to compare the two powerhouses of first person shooter. It is expected of Blizzard to develop an amazing storyline with colorful and unique characters. Just taking a look at their old games, you can expect and they definitely delivered on bringing life to their characters. Each character has their own story and why they are participating in the game. Their pasts are strongly established and why they are the way they are. Even the interactions of each character to another character in-game is absolutely amusing. So I guess that they took the idea from Team Fortress 2 that they should have different personalities in the game, who knows? Even if they did, they surely outdid theirselves! Blizzard, that is. Yup, please don’t put items or hats in Overwatch like those TF2 Items. It will ruin everything, in my opinion.

Do you think I’m wrong? Or you agree with me? Let us know in the comments section!

Eve Online Ships: Worst Ships

For the past weeks, we’ve been talking about good ships and what to aim for. Who would play a game anyways aiming for the bad ones right? That is why we talked about the great Eve Online Ships first. So that you know which one to spend first your hard earned in-game currency, right? Cause that will be your baby. Anyways, how about the worst ships? Which Eve Online ships do you and other people think are the worst? Maybe they still have their uses but still, let us hear what people have to say why they think they are bad.

Eve Online Ships: Reddit

I came across this post looking for comments about which Eve Ships people think are bad down to worst. Good thing there was someone thinking of the same thing in looking for the worst ships in Eve Online:

I’m bored, so I’m asking dumb questions. What do you think the worst ships in eve are? What would be your top 5 crappiest ships in the game and why?

He actually gave his answers as well which was a good start on the topic:
Me, I only have a couple on my list that seem either underpowered or just not really filling a good role. For instance, I think the rorqual is busted, don’t know what I’d do to fix it, but the fact that it’s basically used like a POS module seems a bit lame. The primea is also not of much value (I didn’t even realize that existed until a different thread mentioned that one of my ideas would make a ship as useless as the primae). Deep space transports were a bit rubbish until recently as well.

The reason I ask is that I’m wondering what ships might get a re-balance in the next half decade or so, when CCP gets round to it.

This is a good start. Let us see on the next write up on what other people think. Wait for it everyone!

Eve Online Ships: Some Images

Here in this article, I will share you guys some images that will captivate your minds if you are an Eve Online Player. As an Eve Online Player, have you ever wondered how certain Eve Online Ships and structures will look like if put into our real world perspective? If you have not, prepare yourself. Something this amazing is rare to see and be glad you are here to see it!

Eve Online Ships: Here You Go!

Naglfar

Eve Online Ships

Here is an image on how Naglfar, a Minmatar Dreadnought, will look like if it will be in Chicago! Amazing! Naglfar is 5.3 kilometers tall which is twelve times the height of Sears Tower on its left. Here is some description of Naglfar from the Eve Wiki:

Boasting an impressive versatility in firepower options, the Naglfar is capable of holding its own against opponents of all sizes and shapes. While its defenses don’t go to extremes as herculean as those of its counterparts, the uniformity of resilience – coupled with the sheer amount of devastation it can dish out – make this beast an invaluable addition to any fleet.

Providence

Eve Online Ships

Ever wonder how it will look like for a Providence hovering Chicago? Well, here it is! So enormous that it is like a floating arena! Taking again from Eve Wiki:

Even though characteristically last in the race to create a working prototype of new technology, the Empire’s engineers spared no effort in bringing the Providence into the world. While the massive potential for profit from the capsuleer market is said to have been what eventually made the stolid Empire decide to involve themselves in the freighter business, their brainchild is by no means the runt of the litter; the Providence is one of the sturdiest freighters out there.

Did you love both images? I am pretty sure you did because Eve Ships over a real world image is so captivating. Do not worry. I will share more of images like these in the next article.

Redeem Code Corner: DCUO End Game

While DCUO doesn’t have much in the way of a nice early or mid game, comprised only of quest hubs filled to the brim with fetch and kill quests, with a neat little “episodic” type story for each, it’s end game is a stark difference. DCUO truly begins when you reach the proper level cap of 30. This is because gear progression is the biggest and best experience DCUO has to offer aside from the robust end game episodes of PvE and the blood-pumping action of PvP.

Redeem Code: DCUO Gear Progression

Farming Marks of Victory will be your primary purpose of existence because these commendations enable you to purchase gear of higher combat rating. In turn, having a higher combat rating will enable you to have the ability to purchase Iconic sets with even higher combat rating from certain NPCs.

Surely, you could always just opt to try and get lucky with gear drops from solo challenges, duos, or 4 man dungeons. However, this can be difficult due to fickle RNG, rolling against other players in 4 mans, or just being downright unlucky with your personal loot drops. It’s entirely possible that, for your entire itinerary for the day, you actually get nothing useful to upgrade your Combat Rating. This has happened to me and has happened to at least 90% of DCUOs avid playerbase.

With the changes to purchasing gear costs, the price for these progression gear have all but increased when compared to DCUO’s incarnation back in its earlier years. A single piece, especially early-mid game gear of CR 70, can cost a huge amount of marks just to purchase a single piece. With a cap of 100 Marks of Victory, you can’t exactly earn a shit-ton in a period of time and then suddenly splurge right there and then.

Early in the end game, you won’t be able to find much to do for dailies for these marks due to the lack of stuff you can do. With everything gated behind a Combat Rating wall, the hardcore player will inevitably finish everything they can do in a day and still may not even be close to moving their CR due to bad drops.

Consolation to this is that, as you get stronger, you also unlock the right to play newer episodes in the DCUO story that is lifted from great and fantastic storylines like Blackest Night. It’s a great incentive for the DC fandom to keep on their progression, but may not be so much for regular MMO players.

Redeem Code: Tons of DCUO Tiers

Then again, with a crap ton of raids averaging 4 per tier (with 7 tiers), the progression raider fanatics out there will certainly have a lot to do. Remember that there isn’t a “catch up” mechanic in DCUO like there is in SWTOR or WoW, and you have to play ALL the tiers just to get to the current tier of 7. If anything, this should appeal to the hardcore WoW players that don’t like their hands being held.

Take what you will of this info, but it’s in my opinion that, while it’s not the greatest end game, DCUO knows how to keep their playerbase busy.

Steam Codes Guides: DCUO Speedster Racing Tips 1

Steam Codes: Racing in the DC World

Us DCUO fans know that the more feats (achievements) you obtain, the more skill points you have. What better way to make use of your time than to knock out the harder achievements early?

The speedster races are, in my opinion, the hardest types of racing when compared to flying, acrobatics, and skimming. This is because of the inherent difficulty in properly controlling your movement. Make one wrong keypress and you’ll suddenly find yourself scaling the side of a wall on another building two blocks over from your intended area. It can be seriously that annoying.

Steam Codes Tips

Without further ado, below are a few tips to make your life easier when attempting to complete the Gotham and Metropolis super speed races:

  1. Important to your speed as a speedster is the skill called “Speed Force” obtainable upon reaching level 9. It isn’t necessary to complete all the races in Gotham and Metropolis, but it certainly is a huge advantage, especially if you’re trying to make up for a huge time deficit.
  2. Related to the first number, there are two Feats for you to obtain as a speedster that require you to have NO points invested in your movement ability tree. This means that you can’t have Speed Force and, therefore, cannot use it. You must achieve a Platinum score in an Expert race for one of the feats, and another Platinum must be achieved for an Adept race as the other. Like it was stated earlier, you can definitely finish ANY race without using Speed Force, there is just less room for error because you don’t have an insane speed-up option. It’s these feats that will teach you self-control and proper management of your speedster, as well as honing your reaction time and memorization.
  3. Patience! Most often than not, you’ll fail races that are adept level and higher for the first few times. Don’t be discouraged; it’s really meant to be that way. The only way to beat a tough course is if you know it like the back of your hand. Finish the course without the use of speed force for the first few times; get to know it well. Be familiar with everything like how to jump from a certain slope or when to stop at certain points, or pretty much any other technique you can develop to help you out on the track.
