TF2 Trading: Like This Guy

Comparisons between Overwatch and Team Fortress 2 are endless. This copied this. That is better than that; they are never-ending. It’s as if you are improving TF2 Trading if you win the argument or if you make a really good comparison. No, people still compare.

TF2 Trading: The Post

Can’t we all be like this guy? He didn’t compare Team Fortress 2 and Overwatch because he just wants to clash the two. Here is the first part of his post:

 First and foremost, my credentials:

-I’ve been playing Overwatch since it came out

-I’ve been playing Team Fortress 2 for 6 years, and have over 7.5k hours on it(I know many people will already be downvoting this, but Overwatch IS heavily inspired by TF2)

My experience with Torbjorn: Personally, I haven’t spent a ton of time playing Torbjorn, despite the fact that the Engineer in TF2 was essentially my main (if not only) class. This is mainly due to the fact that I’ve been completely addicted to playing Tracer and Reinhardt. Recently I’ve tried to focus on playing Torbjorn but he seems very weak. I also haven’t seen any other players picking him in a month.

Why I think he needs a buff: It seems that his turret is extremely lackluster. It only puts out around 56 damage per second (at level 2), which is far less than most heroes. While it can still do decent sustained damage, it never seems to be sustained. The turret always seems to go down within seconds and then take AGES to be redeployed. Torbjorn seems to be focused entire around his turret (as far as his role as a defender, his armor is more of a support ability), but it seems to be countered by every single hero except for Roadhog. All the other heroes can either kill the turret in a few shots, negate all its damage, or both. Although he can put out decent damage himself with good aim, it still doesn’t match that of other heroes, and it’s only slightly improved by his ult.

TF2 Trading, TF2 Items, TF2, Team Fortress 2, Overwatch

Let us continue on the 2nd part next time. Let us see if he mentions TF2 Items as well.

TF2 Market: Elder Learning From Youth

Can we agree that Team Fortress 2 is the parent of Overwatch because of the mere fact it was released first? I think majority will agree with me on that since Blizzard said that they took ideas from Team Fortress 2 and applied them on their FPS baby. So if ever there is like a TF2 Market system in Overwatch, it will be very obvious that the idea came from, well, Team Fortress 2.

TF2 Market: As of Right Now

With the luxury of Overwatch to be able to see the mistakes and what Team Fortress 2 lacked, they were able to avoid those. Now that Overwatch is gaining massive success by covering those cracks and holes of Team Fortress 2, Team Fortress 2 players are suggesting that things be fixed in their game. Now the tables have turned, Team Fortress 2 is learning from Overwatch. Heck, Team Fortress 2 even added a competitive mode because Overwatch has one. Yeah for sure, Valve did this because they just got the idea from Overwatch.

TF2 Market, Trade TF2, TF2, Team Fortress 2

Here are some of the opinions of Team Fortress 2 players taken from Reddit:

  • The only thing TF2 should learn from Overwatch is the class composition notes
  • “Not enough support characters”

“Too many snipers”

TF2 could really use these.

  • I also liked respawn-timer on healthkits.
  • Im adding some things i enjoy in here aswell:

Kill cams

Play of the game

Respawn time on health kits

Auto voice lines but only for team mates (its really annoying trying to be sneaky and hear “WHY HAS THE CART STOPPED?”)

Also this:

  • also big shiny butts, dont know why no one mentioned that yet

In the end, it is all about exchange of ideas and learning from each other. There is nothing bad about it. As Team Fortress 2 gets better with the updates and changes, we shouldn’t trade TF2 for Overwatch or another game yet. It is just sad that it took them so long to realize the things missing in the game.

Steam Keys Esports: Overwatch Banning and Crazy Whining

The latest banwave from Blizzard happened just on the 1st of July and it’s been glorious. Tons of people have been banned and the servers haven’t felt cleaner. I knew that one Soldier 76 in that one game was just too good to be playing fairly!

But I digress; Blizzard has been doing a fantastic job in maintaining the integrity of the game by quickly taking out these script kiddies before their taint spreads farther unlike Valve with their treatment of Team Fortress 2. While CS:GO has its automated VAC bans, it doesn’t take everything out and, sometimes, a lot of hacks get right through, only banning the hackers when a live moderator steps in. And, even then, they aren’t too aggressive on the matter. Hackers on Steam sure get the full worth of their Steam keys.

Unfortunately, for Blizzard’s side, script kiddies certainly get punched in the nuts way before they can start doing stupid crap. But what’s even more hilarious is the fact that these same cheaters have the nerve, gall, balls, or whatever you want to call it, to get angry AT Blizzard for an apparently “unfair” ban.

The failure due to the absence of mind of these people are just astonishing. From CS:GO’s VAC porn reddit page, a certain redditor presented to the public the reactions of people in a unnamed gaming forum where they accept cheating fully. I swear that you will not believe what you’ll be reading. In fact, all the reactions in the photo album of reaction screenshots simply scream “staged” in every sense of the word due to how absolutely baffling the reactions are. Then again, there are stranger things in the world.

You can click on the link above to see the full album of the reactions, but here are a couple down below as a sample of what to expect. Enjoy.

TF2 Trading: Copying Overwatch

It is funny to see that the table has turned between Team Fortress 2 and Overwatch. In the previous months, people has nothing to say but Overwatch is just Team Fortress 2 with better graphics (which Blizzard admittedly taken concepts from different shooters including Team Fortress 2). Yeah, I am pretty sure those people haven’t tried Overwatch before commenting like that or watched Blizzard interviews and press cons. Now, TF2 is learning from the success of Overwatch. Valve are implementing game modes and other stuff in TF2 that they see are working for Overwatch. I guess, it is a give and take of ideas? TF2 trading ideas? Yeah, that sort, if you will.

TF2 Trading Ideas but Still Short

There is nothing wrong with the copying of this and copying of that between games. Moreover, if they are in the same game genre, there will be similarities and copying of ideas. It is not wrong, in my opinion, if you would copy another aspect of a competitor’s game so as long as you make it better. Take a look at World of Warcraft. People would say or said that they only copied Everquest, right? Blizzard’s biggest moneymaker was just from an existing idea but made better. Same goes for their other games i.e. Hearthstone to Magic: The Gathering, Starcraft to any other RTS existed before it and of course, Overwatch to objective type shooter.

TF2 Trading, TF2 Items, TF2, Team Fortress 2, Overwatch

Team Fortress 2 though, man, they fell short. Even on the copying of what is working for Overwatch, they failed. I have seen so much comments on how Valve continues to not disappoint on disappointing their players. Take this post in Reddit, there are so many people commenting on all the faults and the shortcomings in TF2 even if they tried updating in the game that of Overwatch. So yeah, sad but true and sometimes rage inducing, to be quite honest. And no, inb4 put out more TF2 items, that will not work as well for sure. So yeah, hopefully this changes soon. If not, we will really have to say goodbye to TF2.

TF2 Trading Some Great Moments

Overwatch has “Play of the Game” feature every end of the game to let everyone see the most awesome play of the match (well not always). Some of your amazing and game changing plays won’t necessarily get to be chosen as the play of the game but get to be saved in the highlights section in the main menu. This is definitely a thumbs up on Overwatch as they credit great plays in a match. Unfortunately, Team Fortress 2 doesn’t have that. If you don’t record the entirety of your game, you can’t really predict when to record that pro move of yours. Sad, I hope Team Fortress 2 had that kind of feature as well and maybe you can post it in some TF2 Trading thread.

TF2 Trading: The Very Least

So, without the Play of the Game feature in Team Fortress 2, I thought to myself, “how can we share our great moments in TF2?” without having to record the entirety of our gaming hours. Not to mention it will eat up all our disk space if we do that. Apparently, someone already made a post in Reddit asking people on some awesome plays or moments in Team Fortress 2:

What’s your most memorable TF2 experience, that you’ll probably look back on 10+ years from now

Mine is the time I first dominated this regular on this harvest server I frequent. He’s a beast, and is infamous on the server for being really good. Of course, I’d always get dommed by him, and after a while, I’d planned to get revenge.

So, one day, I rallied the entire team, and, as a pocket medic, I worked to support our 5 soldiers in an attempt to get a domination on him.

It look about an hour and a half, but finally, I healed a soldier who got a third consecutive kill on him, and finally…

THE DOMINATION

It was the first and last domination we’ll ever get. The kick was when he said in chat

“Your still trash tho”

I still go to that server

You can comment your amazing moments here as well, but it would be more awesome if we have some kind of video to back them up. You know what they say, “Pics (or vids) or it didn’t happen.” Well at least we get to share our moments here. Maybe we can choose the most wonderful moment and give out some TF2 Items? Looking forward reading your moments, everyone!

Redeem code: Overwatch’s Incoming Competitive Mode

PSN Redeem Code: Blizzard’s Info on Competitive Mode this end of June!

Overwatch’s competitive mode was supposed to be released at the same time with the actual game, but it was then delayed to late June. While it isn’t much of a problem for most folks, it’s been a bone of contention for players that want to take Overwatch to hyper esports levels right off the bat. No matter because it is coming and coming very soon with a lot of reworking, tweaks and rewards.

First of all, the seasons for the competitive mode are expected to last for about three months, lining up properly with the four seasons. Naturally, the first ever season of Overwatch would be the Summer competitive season.

Next, the company plans to tweak the Assault format to cut down on the number of matches going into Overtime. It happens anywhere from 35 to 50 percent of the time, which Blizzard felt was a bit too high.

Blizzard also overhauled the entire progression system of the game and the competitive tiers that people got used to back in beta have been removed completely. In their place is a new system that will feature a matchmaking ranking that is based on a player skill rating from one to 100. Player skill ratings and averages will be shown before and after matches, and you will also be able to see if you are playing against a pre-made group. Xbox redeem code for Overwatch. Blizzard says that this may result in skill ratings occasionally dropping, but the company plans to monitor this system to make sure it is working as intended.

Lastly,Blizzard added some cosmetic incentives to competitive play via golden weapons and various other things. These will include new sprays and player icons that will only be obtainable during each season. A pretty good time to get an Overwatch redeem code then for some esports competitiveness.

Steam Codes: The Dismal Battleborn

Battleborn, one of Gearbox’s huge hopes for this generation, is going down in flames as we speak. It’s population has been dwindling since its launch back in May 3 and hasn’t been able to change it up ever since then. It has become even more difficult for the Gearbox game to bounce back with Overwatch overshadowing (lol) it in every aspect and completely getting dominated in social media. Overwatch memes, jokes, PotGs, fan art, advertisements, and literally everything under the sun has been able to push Battleborn into obscurity. Adding more fuel to the fire, or, rather, the lack thereof, Battleborn, as essentially closer to a moba than Overwatch, has failed to make a dent in the moba-playing communities of LoL and Dota. Here on out, where is it supposed to go?

Steam Codes: The Lack of Star Power

Screw Team Fortress 2, LoL, Dota, and CS:GO: the real fight is between Battleborn and Overwatch. But, at this point, it’s no contest! Overwatch has gone to soaring heights of popularity that none have ever imagined it ever reaching and Battleborn takes the opposite route into the shadows of deep obscurity. What went wrong for Battleborn? Certainly not the choice of having Steam codes, that’s for sure.

Marketing. Plain and simple.

steam account, battleborn, overwatch, fail, dying, opinion, mascot, tracer 1

Battleborn is not a horrible game. No, not by a long shot. In fact, compared to Overwatch, Battleborn has a lot more going for it as a game. With tons of content including different multiplayer game modes that aren’t only entrenched in the moba tradition, and a single player component that folks sorely want for Overwatch as well, it should have performed better.

But the very fact that Blizzard was able to hype up Overwatch to a degree that none could compete with is what sealed Battleborn’s fate. The only thing Overwatch can truly offer, other than the solid and stellar team-based gameplay, was its cast of extremely attractive characters. Battleborn was not able to do the same with their cast despite being uniquely awesome as well. Everybody knows who Tracer is, even if they don’t play Overwatch. But on the other end of the spectrum, I ask a couple of my friends who… well, I couldn’t really ask them if they knew who the Battleborn mascot is because I don’t even know who it is.

For a game that touts itself as a hero-based shooter, Gearbox failed to make anybody care about the heroes – even their own playerbase. At 800+ players on a Sunday night, that’s not an unfair assessment to make.
