Nosgoth is a competitive, third-person, team-based Vampire versus Human free-to-play multiplayer battle arena experience set in the brutal fantasy world of the Legacy of Kain series.
Nosgoth – Gameplay on your Steam Account
The gameplay focuses on melee Vampire characters against the ranged Human characters. You have access to two modes in the game when you buy steam account: Deathmatch in which the Vampires and Humans pit against each other to get a higher kill count than the opposing team. If the kill count reaches a threshold, the team that reached it wins. In the situation that the time runs out, the team with the most kills wins. Flashpoint, on the other hand, is an offshoot of traditional Domination modes that tasks Humans with capturing a series of control points in the map. Two points are initially available, chosen at random, and when one point is captured, another appears. Humans have a limited amount of time to complete their mission, but each successful capture adds time to the clock, thereby extending the match by a few minutes. Vampires win if they can prevent captures long enough for the match timer to run out.
Nosgoth – Character Class Based System on your Steam Account
Both team types use a character class-based system, meaning there are different vampires and humans that have varying different roles. The gameplay is fast-paced and intense, as Vampires rely on surprise attacks. Both teams possess abilities, which can be activated having cooldown periods when used, or are passive/innately active. Vampires have the ability to fly and climb buildings, humans are grounded and do not get to experience this trait. The Humans rely on weaponry, and projectile-based ranged attacks, such as crossbows. They have ammunition that can be depleted, which can then be refilled at ammunition stations. Vampires being melee, will have very different ways to attack, such as pouncing on top of a human and clawing at them, making them unable to act as they are knocked down, or being grabbed by a flying-based Vampire and dropped into more Vampires.
Reaver, Tyrant, Sentinel, and Deceiver Vampires on your Steam Account
Reavers are the assault initiation class. They excel at surprising and incapacitating human targets with sudden attacks such as Pounce and lurk in high places hoping to find a target to pounce on. When they aren’t assaulting directly, Reavers can use a small arsenal of ranged area-of-effect moves such as Shadow Bomb and Choking Haze. Shadow Bomb blocks a large portion of the battlefield from human vision and is used as a strong ambush tool, or it can also be used for escape. Choking Haze is often used for area denial in the form of a damage-over-time and is perfect for scattering Humans and weakening their defense.
Tyrants are known as living siege weapons. They are initiators and setters. Many of the Tyrant’s skills inflict stun upon those who have been struck. Tyrants have the largest health pool in Nosgoth, and have access to Ignore Pain, which allows them to survive huge amounts of damage. This aspect makes them essential initiator-tanks for the Vampire team.
Sentinels are the Vampires’ unique assassin class, adept at picking off humans one by one as they fly around the battlefield looking for point blank opportunities. They are able to pick up Humans and drop them from vast heights. After the Human is isolated from their team, the Sentinel’s abilities are perfect for dispatching their victim. They can use Dive Bomb to inflict huge damage on targets on the ground, and Wing Flap to stagger and knock back all humans caught in the gust. While flying in the air, Sentinels make an easy target for humans, however, and must be clever in their approach.
Deceivers are masters of illusion. They rely on stealth and unpredictability to break the defense of the human team. They are good initiators and are great at executing specific targets with Backstab, or dealing large AoE damage with Infect. Deceivers are most dangerous behind enemy lines, disguised or invisible, where they can surprise the human team to create a chaotic situation. The Deceiver’s team then has the perfect opportunity to join in and help finish off the staggered enemy team.
