No Such Thing as A Free Meal (Redeem Code)

Free PSN redeem codes or any other kind of free redeem code simply does not exist. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about: “PSN Redeem Code generator” or “XBox Live Codes for free!” Yeah, those kinds of things.

All of these are nothing but scams. Most of the time, these kinds of sites will trick you into giving up your personal information or automatically subscribing you to some useless SMS scam. You’ll then suddenly find out that you either have a lot of bills to pay or your credit card’s been hijacked. Don’t be fooled by these.

The Redeem Code Rip Off

To give an example, the image below shows what a typical scam site of a “redeem code generator” looks like:

It’s natural that we’d first be suspicious of the site, so we tend to look at them closer. You’ll most often find “certified” marks on their page that are clearly visible and/or claims that they’ve been voted or rated highly by some internet website that you also don’t know. There are even ratings for the particular item you’re looking for even though there’s no real way to rate it for yourself.

All of these are just images posted on the site to make it look legit and lull you into a false sense of security. When you do decide to “generate” a code, they’ll most likely require you to share the page with a number of folks on your social media. You’ll then just be spreading the plague.

After a bunch of other steps, they’ll make you take stupid surveys before finally asking for your personal information. The most popular one they ask you for is your mobile phone number, which they will then use to subscribe to expensive apps and other subscriptions that will be of no use to you. It goes without saying that you should NEVER give your CC information to any of these sites. If you do that, then GG, you’re screwed. Cancel your credit card immediately and inform the bank of what happened. They’ll get things sorted out, but it’ll cause a huge hassle for you.

Remember, there are no such things as free redeem codes; there are only cheap ones. If you do ever need anything from PSN redeem codes to Xbox Live subs that are legit, fast, and, most importantly, safe, head off to trusted marketplaces rather than succumbing to these scams.

 

Steam Codes Spotlight: Enter The Gungeon

Enter the Gungeon is a game in the form of classic Bullet Hells, but in dungeons! There haven’t been many to put two invariably separate genres together, especially considering that Bullet Hells are done in spacious, fast-paced, and linear stage tracks while Dungeoneering is especially more focused on quiet strategy and exploration of labyrinthine networks. Again, it really isn’t something people marry together, but it’s an interesting concept entirely.

You pick one of several characters that each have unique stats, weapon specialties, and abilities. But the best and greatest character in Enter the Gungeon is… wait for it…. the bullet. Yep, you heard it right folks; you can play as a bullet shooting bullets at other bullets that shoot bullets at other bullets. Bulletception. But the best part about this character is that he actually starts with, and I kid you not, a sword. Called Blasphemy. Cuz, you know, he’s a bullet using a sword. With every character being just as interesting or even more than the last, Enter the Gungeon has that one character everyone is going to love.

The “Gungeon” itself, the playing field, is an ever-evolving landscape that have been meticulously designed and hand-drawn, but, at the same time, procedurally generating new rooms and landscapes based on the performance of players. While everyone starts out in the same area, the next few rooms will be different on how fast, how good, and what method you dispatched foes with in the previous areas. There’s no similar experience for each playthrough and things just get harder and harder. The game will easily pick up if you’re too good.

Again, even though it’s bullet hell gameplay, the strongest dungeon element in this game is that there is actual progression, shops, currency, and equipment you have to manage, akin to old school dungeoneering games like Legend of Zelda or Alundra. What makes this ever more awesome is that there’s actual multiplayer that you can partake in. Unfortunately, you can only connect via LAN as the game does not support online at the moment.

The best part, however, is that Enter the Gungeon subscribes to the Diablo and Borderlands philosophy of HOLYCRAPLOTSOFLOOT. It’s undeniable that loot-based games have a powerful pull on our psyches. With hundreds upon hundreds of guns to be looted, bought, or stolen, Enter the Gungeon will keep you busy for hours on end with its amazing looting system.

Unleash everything from the tried and true medley of missiles, lasers, and cannonballs to the bizarrely effective volley of rainbows, fish, foam darts, and bees! Yep, bees.

How To Use an Xbox Redeem Code – The Debacle!

The Xbox Redeem Code Debacle!

The interface of the Xbox One, while awesome to look at, won’t be winning any awards soon. The old interface, the initial one at launch, was an awful mess to be completely honest. You could hardly find where to redeem your codes, much less other things not directly about gaming. But the new interface hasn’t done it any favors either.

To be honest, we’re only doing this to help you guys. Back during the era of the Xbox 360 era, it was way easy! Hit the guide button, you go over there, and just hit the “Redeem Code” option. That was it! But, no, the Xbox One has to be a fickle bastard, a confusing one at that, and cause a lot of pain for folks that just wanted to use their Xbox Redeem Code.

For half an hour, I was just lolling around my Xbox One interface with literally no idea what I was doing or looking for. Finally, however, I found exactly how to do it. Now, why the tutorial, you ask? Well, this is to help the folks out there that don’t want to waste their time trying to figure out the pointlessness for themselves. This way, you save a lot of time and frustration.

So, here it is. To use your Xbox redeem code go to the top of your Xbox One dashboard and put your cursor highlight on the “Store” tab. This will then collapse into smaller tabs and choose the “Games” tab. Scroll down to “Browse All Games” that is located right beside the “Search All Games” bar.

Once on the Browse All Games interface, head back up to the top of the page and slide to the right and click on the “Use a Code” tab. Once there, you can choose to either use a QR code to scan on your kinect or use the 25 digit Xbox redeem code you have. It’s that simple although it can be initially frustrating at first.

Certainly, Microsoft has designed the Xbox with a very fancy interface that is sleek, smooth, pleasing to the eyes, and minimalist. It’s an awesome aesthetic design, but has horrid ergonomic properties. It takes a bunch of tries and a whole lot of patience for people just to use their redeem codes or redeem gift cards because of an oddly illogically structured user interface.

Steam Keys Esports: Daigo & Co. Dropped by Mad Catz

It has recently come to light that Mad Catz is taking a different direction with its company and may drop top tier fighting gamers Daigo Umehara, Mago, Tokido, and others, who are top Street Fighter players in the world, from company sponsorship. Rumors have it that the company is in dire straits at the moment and is in need of all of its partitioned budgets to be focused on a solitary project.

Steam Keys Esports: The Company’s Direction

Not only that, but Mad Catz has recently announced that it will be laying off 37% of its staff in order to support its new hierarchy. With another former Mad Catz sponsored fighting gamer, Poongko, signing off on DoTA’s Team Secret, the Mad Catz hullabaloo is just further being amplified.

Daigo Umehara, one of the most, if not the most, successful individual esports athlete has been sponsored by Mad Catz for an extremely long time. Along with his contemporaries, Tokido and Mago, they are only three of the Fighting game gods of Japan that will be without any financial backing if their contracts are not renewed. The players themselves have stated that their initial contracts will end or have ended this March of 2016 and are unsure of their future with the company.

Steam Keys Esports: The Future of the Mad Catz Gods

If worse comes to worst, they will be forced to part ways with Mad Catz, however there won’t be any real difficulty in finding some other to sponsor them. Like what was earlier stated with Poongko, many Moba esports teams have been opening their doors to professional fighting gamers and they may well be picked up by other prolific teams such as Evil Geniuses, Red Bull, Razer, or maybe even Invictus Gaming. There is no shortage of teams that are willing to sponsor three of the best Street Fighter players in the world, it’s all a matter of what they will choose.

It’s in my opinion that this is going to be a grave error that Mad Catz will regret in the near future if they do not renew the contracts of their players. While the company may be flogging at the moment, it’s been famed for sponsoring Daigo Umehara and his fellow gods, and would do itself a disservice in letting that distinction go. Nothing is set in stone at the moment, so we’ll wait for further developments on that front.

No Hype for Blazblue Chronophantasma Extend Steam Codes

As one of those who only owns a PC and not either a Playstation 4 or Xbox, I was anticipating the Steam Codes of Blazblue Chronophantasma Extend. Emphasis on ‘was.’ The hype in me died on the release of BBCPEX in PC because it was a little too late. ‘Little’ late is an understatement. Why? Because Japan.

No, we are not talking about Japan being a First World Country. We are on the topic that Japan gets the first try on the fighting game I am really addicted to but still gets disappointed on the release dates for PC, or even for the consoles. There is already a new iteration of Blazblue out already in Japan arcades like for half a year advanced for them. It is called Blazblue Central Fiction. And now they are just releasing the PC version of Blazblue Chronophantasma Extend? No thanks ArcSys.

My friends and I enjoyed the times when we played BBCPEX in their houses on their gaming consoles. Hands down, the fighting game is still fun but when news broke out that there was already BBCF in Japan, we all suddenly stopped playing in anticipation for the new game. We are pretty competitive in Blazblue and we would only like to play the latest version of the game which is BBCF but Japan is the only place to play the game. So, me, personally, I would not want to go back to Blazblue Chronophantasma Extend anymore. I have watched too much match videos of Central Fiction that I actually forgot how to do combos in BBCPEX.

Steam Codes: Moving On

Sad to say, I think I might consider BBCPEX dead already. Noone wants to play it anymore. It is kind of pointless playing the  game competitively as Japanese players, being the strongest Blazblue players in the world, has already moved on to Central Fiction. We, outside of Japan, are just focused on the release of Central Fiction to immediately practice on the game and be competitive on it with the dreams of competing internationally. Sorry Arc System Works. As a PC owner and a Blazblue fan / player, I will not purchase Blazblue Chronophantasma Extend. You should change how you release new iterations / updates of the game in Japan and for the rest of the world.
