Eve Plex: Sharing Part 4

Here is the last part of a great sharing why Eve Online is one of the best games out in the market right now. If you didn’t know the part that came before this, please take a look in the list of my posts. Yeah, I would link you the other parts but this is already the last part of four parts. Anyways, hope you can relate with this guy talking about his experience and some things about some Eve Online Ships.

Eve Plex: Continuation

And it’s this level of interaction that makes this a very REAL world in a digital space. Despite all of the scientific accuracy in Elite Dangerous, you never escape the cockpit; the knowledge of being in a simulation. A false environment, no matter how believable from a distance, will never make up for the depth of and truth behind the social constructs in EVE Online.

I know this is a bit overlong for a lover letter, but I guess all I’m really trying to say is that I wish I had come here sooner, and I’ll probably be here awhile.

FINAL NOTE: Minmatar ships look like a three year old built them out of leftover Legos after his big brother used all the good pieces. (And now you will all focus on this statement instead of the story.)

POST FINAL NOTE: This is one of the first things I’ve ever posted on Reddit, and I really didn’t expect this many people to read a long ass post like this – but oh yeah, these are EVE players. Thanks guys 🙂

Eve Online Ships, Eve Ships, Eve, Eve Online

It was a refreshing read when you get to realize that all of the things he said is what made me stay in Eve Online as well. It’s as if he just told my experience or read my mind and wrote all of it. Yeah, I do wish too that I did play Eve Online sooner. With all those Eve Ships, the economy, the interaction with other people, etc. Eve Online is absolutely great.

TF2 Trading: Laugh Out Loud

Team Fortress 2 might be pushed back into the shadows by Overwatch but animations related or about Team Fortress 2 never fails to entertain. Former TF2 players might go back to playing the game on just how funny this is and in turn spark TF2 Trading as well.

TF2 Trading: Funny Video

Enjoy!

This is the transcript of the video just in case you didn’t understand some of them.

“But I mean, Team Fortress 2 is just way too rediculous four you to- ’cause, it’s all the same thing. It’s like… I dunno.

You get the Scout. And you put him in a wig. And then he looks at the sun a bunch. And then, there’s Femscout. You put her in a wig too. Then, the Spy’s the bad guy…

Uh…

Femscout’s gonna have to die at some point, ’cause….

Fuck that shit.

And then, Scout’s sad. And then he has a sword. And then he fights demons. And then, Femscout’s back, she didn’t really die, becasue it was the Spy.

And then… uh….

Scout has to fight femscout. And he kicks her into the sun. And then he realizes what he’s done. And then he’s real sad. Then he’s on a bed. Then he looks at a gun. Then he’s about to shoot himself, but he’s like:

‘Nah, this ‘aint cool.’

So then he goes…

… drives a bike…

Off into the Sunset. And then the sun turns into his mom’s head. And it turns to the camera and mouths the words:

‘Ya’ done did good, kid’

And that’s the end of the show.

That’s every drama tf2 video.”

TF2 Trading, TF2 Items, TF2, Team Fortress 2

I was literally laughing my heart out while watching this. There were parts that I didn’t understand but I think that’s where it hit the spot, when the video made you “wtf”. There were some TF2 Items in the video as well like the hats. Hope you enjoyed this video as much as I did and credits to the owner and uploader!

TF2 Market: Uh Oh

Bad news for Team Fortress 2 as their strongest competitor, Overwatch, has released trailers and news on a new character in the game and balances / fixes as well. As Team Fortress 2 just released their competitive mode and new quick match mode, Overwatch coincidentally (I would like to think) has new content. This will for sure affect the TF2 Market again.

PATCH FEATURES

New Hero: Ana (Support)
After being out of the fight for several years, one of Overwatch’s founding members is returning. Introducing Ana—a battle-scarred veteran who supports her teammates from a distance using a unique and highly specialized collection of weapons.

Ana’s primary weapon is her Biotic Rifle, which fires long-range darts that can restore the health of her allies or deal ongoing damage to her enemies. Meanwhile, her Biotic Grenade is perfect for a close-quarters clash, simultaneously healing teammates and injuring foes caught in its small area of effect. (Affected allies will also receive a temporary increase to all incoming healing, while affected enemies can’t be healed for a few moments.) And if the battle starts to get out of hand, Ana’s sidearm can fire a Sleep Dart, knocking her adversaries unconscious.

Plus, Ana’s ultimate ability, Nano Boost, empowers one of her teammates, granting faster movement, increased damage, and resistance to enemy attacks.

To learn more about Ana, click here.

GENERAL UPDATES

Gameplay

  • If a match goes into Overtime for more than 20 seconds, the fuse will now start to “burn down” more quickly
  • Players now respawn more slowly during Overtime (increased spawn time by 2 seconds)

Competitive Play

  • Competitive Play matches can now only have one of each hero per team. For more info, click here.

Miscellaneous

  • Added Ana as an AI-controlled hero in Practice vs. AI, Play vs. AI, and Custom Game modes
  • Timing on Zenyatta’s Rapid Discord achievement is more lenient
  • Targeted teammates now respond by saying “I’m with you,” when players use the “Group Up” communication
  • Renamed five sprays to avoid duplicate titles

You might say that this doesn’t concern Team Fortress 2. Absolutely the opposite. This greatly affects Team Fortress 2 because it fuels again the hype train in Overwatch. People will trade TF2 again for Overwatch because of this new character and changes. Hopefully this wouldn’t though because I have love for both games.

Eve Plex: Sharing Part 3

Here is the continuation of last time’s insight I shared to you guys. It might not be about Eve Plex but still interesting.

Eve Plex: Continuation

I’ve been in this corporation for about a week, and I now see why I truly hesitated at first to find one. I was looking at these corporations like they were guilds or clans from other MMOs, and that couldn’t be further from the truth. I knew they were a major part of EVE, but they’re far more than that. They’re central to the very structure of the experience. This isn’t some group of players that need other trusted people to help in raids now and then. This is an organization of loyalists with a shared vision, complete with the political complexities of interacting with other organizations – many that share a similar level of zealousness. I recognize I may have gotten lucky finding a corporation this good, but even if there are objectively better ones out there, this corporation is now my country, my birthplace, and my home.

You have neighbors. Alliances. Enemies. One day, a friendly visitor from another system started a conversation with me and we talked for a few minutes while I mined, like a next door neighbor peeking his head over the fence in your backyard just to say hi. Another day we received a war declaration and so an experienced player rounded up all of the newer pilots out to teach fleet tactics, and to practice in scrimmages.

Eve Plex, Buy Eve Plex, Eve, Eve Online

Don’t be like this guy

I liked the part where some stranger actually talked to him. I actually appreciate meeting and playing with strangers online in an MMORPG than just hanging around and playing with real life friends. The unexpected addition of random players in my friends list is a wonderful feeling and even if your real life friends aren’t online, you have someone to look forward to in the game aside from them. Yeah, normally those in-game friends are usually online if your real life friends are not online. I can definitely say I would buy Eve Plex for them because they keep me company when I need one.

How about you? What do you think of this part of his story? Let us know!

TF2 Trading: Changes Continued

Last time I shared to you guys the changes made to the first three classes (Scout, Soldier and Sniper) in Team Fortress 2. These changes and balances were made in accordance with the new competitive mode and the new quick play mode. Good thing that Valve made these changes so that Team Fortress 2 will at least become a little fresher than the usual. This might make TF2 Trading a little more active as well, who knows?

TF2 Trading: Heavy, Spy and Pyro Changes

Again, this is from a nice poster from Reddit:

Heavy

Reduced pulse damage from Ring of Fire to 12 (from 15) due to increased damage vs. burning

The Manmelter

Removed (hidden) 20% fire rate penalty

TF2, Team Fortress 2, TF2 Trading, TF2 Items

With the balances and changes, players will have to play differently which is a good thing. Team Fortress might be old but these little patches can bring a whole new ballgame to Team Fortress 2. I saw some people comment that it’s a miracle that there’s a new patch which is true. They are happy that there is but they also don’t want to overhype it because there is nothing to be hyped about. Well, at least there’s a chance that there will be more TF2 Items available in the store! We will continue next time for the last three class changes!

TF2 Trading: Desperate Time, Desperate Measure?

Overwatch is beating the crap out of Team Fortress 2 in every aspect there is. Of course, some people might disagree but hey, truth hurts. Team Fortress 2 might have let the whole market take over them because they were, yes, were, on top of the FPS market for some time and might got a little too overconfident. Well, Blizzard saw that window and thus Overwatch. We might say Valve and TF2 is done for but TF2 trading some more blows and get a second wind, which I still doubt.

TF2 Trading: Competitive

So yeah, Team Fortress 2 finally thought of putting competitive mode in the game. Is it because they realized it through Overwatch? Or was this a long plan and they just put it now because of all the hype Overwatch is getting? Nevertheless, here is the video:

COMPETITIVE MODE

RISE THROUGH THE RANKS

Ever since the first dolphins crawled out of the ocean, they’ve longed to pick a fight with the fat, banana-eating apes over by the trees. And now they can, in a structured dolphin-safe environment.

Introducing Competitive Mode, a ranked 6v6 game mode featuring all nine TF classes. Climb the comp mode ranks to earn up to 18 titles and badges. Track all of your match and ongoing stats in-game. You can even earn stat medals by scoring in the top percentile of all players in your rank.

CASUAL MODE

QUICKPLAY GETS AN UPGRADE

Matchmaking is also changing the way TF2 can be played casually. Now, instead of jumping randomly into an in-progress game, you’ll be matched into an unranked 12v12 game with players of similar skill. This means no more auto-balancing—you’ll be playing a match from start to finish, with actual winners and actual losers.

We’ve also introduced a leveling stat: the more you play, the more you level up, and you can accelerate your leveling by earning points in-game. Have friends? Play on the same team every time simply by inviting them to your party.

TF2 Trading, TF2 Items

These information came from the Team Fortress 2 website. If you haven’t played Overwatch, this seems like a desperate move of Valve and without the capacity of creativity, they just copied what is in Overwatch right now. I don’t think “Overwatch just copied TF2” won’t work anymore because clearly, TF2 is the copycat on this one. Also even if there are more TF2 items, free or not, it won’t save the dying game anymore. Good try though, Team Fortress 2.

TF2 Market: Pyro In Us

On one of my articles, I said that Overwatch did a great job in creating characters with their own personalities and characteristics. Team Fortress 2 actually was kind of the first who did it in an FPS MMO setting. The different classes have different attitudes, mannerisms, etc. thus made them attractive in their genre which became a great TF2 Market.

TF2 Market: Great Analysis

There’s a fresh post in Reddit that is a great analysis on how we are all relatable to the TF2 characters especially the Pyro:

In Team Fortress 2, the nine classes are distinct characters, all with unique personalities and features. However, one of them is an exception: the Pyro. The Pyro wears a full-body suit that masks their every feature and muffles their voice. The only character trait we’re given is that the Pyro sees a very different world than we do. Instead of the violence, murder, and insanity, they see a world of rainbows, candy, and little cherubs. There’s no death in Pyroland, only happiness.

Furthermore, the Pyrovision Goggles item show that Pyroland might not be the product of insanity, but a half-virtual reality that transforms everything they see into something out of a children’s cartoon.

That’s because the Pyro represents the players.

Think about it. As players, we’re murdering people. We think it’s okay because they’re not real, because no one actually dies, but that still doesn’t change the fact that we’re virtually killing people for fun. It’s not a life-or-death battle to us, just something that we all share and enjoy. Not only that, but we even laugh at it; the comics and videos make death and brutality funny. We laugh at these grizzled mercenaries because they accidentally killed themselves, or had a fatal accident.

Furthermore, the Pyro was shown to be a very successful businessman, but would much rather be fighting, and lose himself in Pyroland. Just like how we can be successful in real life, but prefer to lose ourselves in video games filled with death and carnage.

TL;DR: The Pyro is an insane maniac because they represent us players. When we play Team Fortress 2, we’re not seeing it as it is, a horrific unending tale of violence and death, but a fun game to play. We enjoy the game, and we laugh at the comics and videos, all the while ignoring the fact that we’re enjoying virtual murder.

TF2 Market, Trade TF2

Pretty deep and relatable, right? This is one reason I won’t easily trade TF2 for any game (Overwatch is a complete exemption though, lol) because we can get deep stuff like this aside from enjoying the game.

TF2 Trading: Updates

Overwatch is owning the first person shooter market now. Actually, Overwatch is owning the gaming market. So what does old man Team Fortress 2 doing about it? Will the dying game still try to retaliate? TF2 trading blows versus Overwatch? Well, these new updates, in my opinion, is an attempt to do so. Hey correct me if I’m wrong but I think they are trying to but this is just a “at least we tried” stuff going on.

TF2 Trading: News

I heard that there will be updates this month in Team Fortress 2 and here are the said updates (from their official website):

sad

Yeah, these are just fixes. I don’t have news on the other updates but it seems people are telling everyone to not be hyped about it which I agree on. I really think TF2 should be put down. More TF2 Items won’t cut it as well. Pessimism from me for days. Can’t help it since I’m just stating the truth.

Eve Online Ships: Sharing Part 2

Last week, I shared to you guys about someone posting a story about an interesting story but unfortunately it was only the first part. I will share to you now the next part of his story in Reddit. Read on to know more stuff from the poster about Eve Online Ships and more.

Eve Online Ships

Eve Online Ships: Continuation

Here is the continuation of his post:

Like I said, I just started EVE Online. For the first couple days, I mined to make a little bit of cash while I became familiar with the controls and let my skills gradually train up. Sure, there’s a learning curve, but once you get past the overwhelming number of icons and menus, it’s really not that difficult to figure anything out – you just have to read (I feel like a lot of people just don’t do this and that’s why people complain).

During this time, I worked on my Opportunities list. I went through each one like a checklist, learning each new dynamic of the game and becoming more impressed. But then I got to the one about joining a corporation, and I sighed. Of course I knew about corporations and that they played a major part of the game, but no matter what game I play, I like to do things on my own. It’s large part of why I’ve never gotten into any MMO (even WoW).

I selected a corporation, applied, and was accepted (I won’t tell you who because I’m not asking for a WarDec, thanks). Over the coming days I felt a genuine camaraderie that I had never experienced in a game before. Every member has personal goals, it’s true, but above all else they care about the growth and safety of the corporation as a whole. Our CEO and Directors speak with all of us about the corporation’s long term goals, and not once have they needed to directly ask or direct someone to perform a task – every member jumps at the opportunity to prove their value to the corp and they get it done.

Let us continue next time and maybe the poster will tell us more like something more about Eve and Eve Ships.

Redeem Codes: Battleborn Vs. Overwatch

Forget Team Fortress 2, Dota, and LoL; the real competitors are Battleborn and Overwatch as they’re both new IPs vying for a good spot in an increasingly competitive esports scene. Battleborn is developed by Gearbox studios, the same developers of the Borderlands series, while Overwatch is a new and original IP from Blizzard of World of Warcraft fame.

battleborn vs overwatch, redeem codes, blizzard, gearbox, fps, moba, opinion, comparison 2

They’re both shooters, yes, and they’re both intrinsically similar, but at the same time, play completely differently.

Redeem Codes: The Key Differences

  • Overwatch

Let’s start with Overwatch. Why start here? A bias? Maybe. But it also has something to do with how dead simple the game is. I don’t mean that as an insult or a compliment; but merely a statement of fact. It’s a team-based shooter that takes its roots from traditional 90’s shooters like Doom, Half Life, Quake, and, of course, Team Fortress the mod. It naturally takes inspiration from Team Fortress 2 and Blizzard freely admits that.

In terms of gameplay, it’s what you’d expect a shooter to be, but the real clincher in Overwatch is its solidly colorful cast of characters that are simply too attractive to ignore. With each hero having their own skills and abilities, each hero plays uniquely and fit roles that have to synergize well with a team. And, you know, that’s pretty much it about Overwatch.

It has some great lore, fantastic characters, and superbly fun gameplay that has been inspired from the tried-and-tested classics of the 90’s. There’s really no way to go wrong there.

  • Battleborn

Battleborn, on the other hand, can be very complicated. Calling itself a “hero shooter,” Battleborn sports also a ton of unique heroes that follow in the same vein as Overwatch, but has more skills, much more akin to a Moba than a team based shooter. If anything, the game is very similar to Smite, a 3rd person Moba with a similar concept. Battleborn also has single player and non-competitive cooperative modes coupled with an account and hero progression. Compared to Overwatch, Battleborn certainly has more to do than competitive matches.

battleborn vs overwatch, redeem codes, blizzard, gearbox, fps, moba, opinion, comparison 3

However, the only problem with the game is that it tries to be a lot of things at the same time. It’s trying to be an MMO, an FPS Moba, a team based shooter, and a generic shooter campaign all at once. It then becomes hard to pinpoint what it actually wants to focus on, making it harder to be taken seriously as an esport unlike Overwatch’s committed single mindedness.

Redeem Codes: What’s better?

Well, you decide! They both are good at what they do and will certainly attract specific crowds. If you like the Moba format, best to go Battleborn redeem codes, but the iffy jack of all trades concept it has going may make it hard to have an Esports future. Choose Overwatch redeem codes if you want something more stable competitively, but it does lack other content apart from the competitive aspect. Both games are great, to be honest, and it will only matter what you find more enjoyable.
